It depends on what you expect to earn, the risk involved and your plans for the business. We will talk it through with you in plain language and set out the tax position of each before you decide.

When should I speak to an accountant about a new business?

As early as possible — ideally before you start trading, so the structure, registrations and bookkeeping are right from day one.

Do you help with bookkeeping once we have started?

Yes. We offer free bookkeeping lessons to get you going, and can take the bookkeeping on entirely if you would rather concentrate on running the business.
